For some commissions, a body measurement chart may not be necessary. However, for any type of clothing, cosplay, accessory, or custom-fitted-to-your-person item that I design, certain areas of the body need to be appropriately measured.
1. Get a soft, sewing, measuring tape, and use centimeters preferred if possible; I prefer to work with the metric system rather than the Dewey decimal as it is more precise. However, inches will work as well.
2. make sure that the measuring tape is following the outlines shown in the body measurement charts. Typically at the first fitting, I will redo your body measurements, however, in order for me to get a good grasp on the amount of fabric, necessary, etc., body measurements are absolutely imperative prior to scheduling your first fitting!
3. If you can, get someone else to take the measurements for you! when taking the measurements, the measuring tape should be not overlyly tight nor overly loose. Just a good estimate of what for example, your wrists circumference, neck circumference, and perhaps ankle to waist height is.
4. Please do not fill out the commission contract; I will fill all of the information out as the commission progresses. However, please reference in case there are any questions about fittings, delivery schedule, etc.
